‘Travel Grants’ primarily aims to support the mobility of artists and cultural operators to explore, to develop skills, to build networks, and to engage in international collaborations

The programme

Travel Grants aim to support the mobility of artists and cultural operators to explore, to develop skills, to build networks, and to engage in international collaborations.

 The Grant will support 100% of the costs to implement the mobility project. These may include any of the following:

  • Travel (Economy class)
  • Standard accomodation
  • Participation fees (for festivals, conferences, networking sessions, or training and development programmes)
  • Insurance and Visa
  • Freight

Who can apply?

Individuals and/or organisations are eligible to apply for the grants.

The grants address the outgoing mobility of artists and cultural operators for one or more of the following reasons:

  • Artists’/writers’ residencies;
  • Professional training and
  • “Go-see” or short-term exploration
  • Participation in festivals, showcases, networking sessions, conferences
  • Partner search for exchanges and
  • Practice-led research.

After you apply

Each project may be allocated a maximum of EUR 2,000. The amount may cover 100% of eligible expenses.

This fund is competitive and will be evaluated according to established criteria.

Proposals will first be screened in terms of eligibility. Proposals which are not eligible in terms of the procedure stipulated by these guidelines will not be processed further and will not undergo evaluation.

After you submit your application form at Arts Council Malta, an independent evaluation board will evaluate your project. On the day indicated, you will receive your result notification from Arts Council Malta.
